NET4Air · NETWORKING CENTER FOR EXCELLENCE IN NANOELECTRONIC DEVICES FOR AIR MONITORING
The overarching goals of NET4Air are: (i) to significantly advance excellence capacity and resources in IMT with a view of addressing the research and innovation gap and imbalance within Europe; (ii) to broadly increase IMT expertise, know-how and attractiveness in innovative nanotechnologies, materials, devices, smart systems, data analytics and best-practices for environment monitoring, (iii) to bring the IMT research, education and technology capacity to the new stage of Open Science, by enlarging its European partnership and by establishing a collaborative program with state representatives, local agencies, research centres, universities, industry and citizen associations, (iv) to foster regional excellence in devices and practices for air quality monitoring (v) to engage Romanian citizens in a participatory approach to air quality science and (vi) to apply European Green Deal principles for saving our environment and contribute to citizens health, wellbeing and prosperity. These goals will be translated in concrete actions using the specific Twinning Coordination & Support activities articulated in seven Work Packages. A plethora of activities such as training, staff exchanges, events attendance and organisation, and a Networking Centre for Excellence in environmental monitoring and remediation will be implemented to support NET4Air activities and to foster regional excellence in the field of air monitoring. An exploratory research project aiming to develop a low cost wearable/portable nanoelectonic based platform for air monitoring, demonstrated in four use cases will significantly contribute to societal, economic and environmental impact of NET4Air. A new department for research management and administration at IMT will enhance its capacity to initiate and join EU project and initiatives. The gender equality, diversity and inclusion strategy will be carefully implemented including hiring people for new jobs created in the project and beyond.
