H2020Status: CLOSED15 April 202114 November 2021EU funding €397,813Call H2020-MSCA-NIGHT-2020bis

More than 500 million people on three continents are united by the world's largest sea, the Mediterranean, whose strategic geographic location and the shared history gives us a common character and common challenges.Mediterranean Researchers' Night - MEDNIGHT objective is to generate a Mediterranean unity, providing awareness about common problems, reinforcing researchers’ commitment, progress, and achievements and putting science and scientists at the cornerstone of our future and a relevant matter for women, men, children and youngsters. MEDNIGHT shows the attractiveness and importance of the researchers’ work and professions to the general public, carrying out a series of activities framed under the common umbrella of what we have come to call “Mediterranean Science” placing particular emphasis on female researchers showing how R&D is a source of progress and well-being for our daily life. It is also aimed at showing the diversity of careers and existing options and the different skills acquired, overcoming prejudices and assumptions and demonstrating the open character of our scientific research.Mediterranean Science relates to research developed in the our territories but also the countless collaborations with other EU researchers. Mediterranean Science is focused on Mediterranean relevant topics according to our culture, way of life or current challenges: Geology and biodiversity, Sea and pollution, Climate and clean energies, Diet and nutrition, Life and health, Anthropology and History, Pioneer women scientists, and our Future. Many online and face-to-face diverse activities are organised by MEDNIGHT consortium in Cartagena, Murcia, Orihuela, Alicante, Valencia, Castellón, Messina, Crete, Limnos, Nicosia, Malta, Ítaca, Ibiza, Mallorca, Elche, Altea, Torrevieja, Alzira, Bunyol, Cagliari, Palermo, Catania, Nuoro, Torino, Pavia, Trieste, Perugia, Ancona, Macerata and l’Aquila.
