MARE is an 18 month support action which aims to carry out a technology and foresight analysis in the field of Assistive Technologies (AT). AT are all technologies used in daily life to improve quality of life and to live independently for longer. Typically AT refers to those devices that are designed with electronics, microprocessors and high performance materials which allow: powered mobility, augmentative communication, environmental control and the use of microcomputers. MARE will carry out an analysis of the state of development of these technologies and on the identification of the barriers to their full development, and will formulate a technology foresight to understand their future developments in Europe. This will be achieved through the following activities: 1) Defining ICT AT environment and delimit AT sectors; define AT Users Centred Approach"
