Mathematics in Gabon for Africa project brings together a broad spectrum of mathematicians covering the expertise needed to make substantial progress in several directions insofar as they bring into play common knowledge and inspirations. MaGA project is highly international projects, implemented by consortia involving three European and five African countries.Built around a core of researchers in sub-Saharan Africa (based in Burkina Faso, Gabon, Mali, Republic of Congo and Senegal), it aims to develop a large-scale intercontinental collaboration, starting from and multiplying the forces present. Africa's economic development cannot be achieved without its skills, particularly the most qualified. We aim to train a new generation of African mathematicians able to actively participate in the development of their universities and their country, in collaboration with the international community, and to organize scientific training meeting the needs of local non-academic organizations. MaGA project will train the future trainers, establish the scientific potential and influence of the African and European researchers and develop attractive and relevant local doctoral training. It offers a coherent strategy to build demanding training adapted to economic and social local needs and to strengthen North-South-South capacity. It aims to create in Gabon within 10 years a center of excellence in mathematics, a place of regional convergence of Research and Innovation initiatives open to the non-academic world. The scientific project explores a broad spectrum of open theoretical and applied questions in mathematics and includes a speculative component opening towards the non-academic world.
