The primary goal of the Civic Engagement: Pedagogies for a Resilient Generation program is to establish a comprehensive and multidisciplinary network of international experts, fostering cross-sector collaboration to address the complexities and ramifications of democratic engagement, civic participation, and digital literacy. The project adresses the critical and multifaceted issue of democratic deficits among youth, particularly the rise of anti-democratic movements across Europe.Seeks to bridge these gaps by leveraging interdisciplinary research, international collaboration, and innovative methodologies to foster democratic resilience among European youth. At its core, the project aims to develop scalable, community-based pedagogical frameworks that integrate insights from pedagogy, sociology, psychology, political science, and digital literacy. Recognizing the disconnection between schools and their communities, I-CIVIC focuses on creating synergies between educational institutions and local entities such as museums, libraries, cultural associations, sports clubs, and local governance bodies. The objetives are: Understand and Address the Gaps in Democratic Education,Create Innovative Tools and Educational Frameworks,Build Inclusive and Scalable Educational Practices and Provide Excellent Training and Supervision.I-CIVIC adopts a holistic approach to addressing the complex challenges presented by democratic deficits, declining civic engagement, misinformation, and inclusivity gaps in education. This approach is grounded in a multidisciplinary, cross-sector exchange network that aims to break down barriers between disciplines and sectors. I-CIVIC is designed to tackle several interconnected scientific challenges related to democratic participation, digital literacy, and community-based education. These challenges are addressed through innovative research, interdisciplinary collaboration, and the development of practical tools and frameworks.
