GROVF4.0 · Feasibility study for Grovf hardware accelerated no SQL database for Industry 4.0

In the digital world, exabytes of data are collected by manufacturing, energy, telecom companies. The amount of datagenerated in the past 8 years grew fifteen-fold while datacenters processing power increased only fourfold. According topredictions of IBM, the number of devices that are connected to the internet will increase 7 times in 3 years and will reach upto 50B in 2020. This reality will increase the gap between datacenters processing power and generated data. To solve IIoTdata storage and analytics problem companies replicate database servers, which results in complicated infrastructure, increase cost, space, power consumption. A medium European manufacturing company with annual revenue of €50M willspend €158k to implement such solution and €85k annually to support it. Grovf takes another architectural approach to solvethe problem and instead of processors, uses FPGAs as a processing unit. GData is growing faster than ever before and bythe year 2020, about 1.7 megabytes of new information will be created every second for every human being on the planet .According to a new report from IBM Marketing Cloud, “10 Key Marketing Trends For 2017,” 90% of the data in the worldtoday has been created in the last two years alorovf database server is a first of its kind, dedicated, out of the box, FPGAAcceleratedNoSQL database for IIoT sensors generated data. Our prototype already achieved 10x faster transactions and31x power saving compared with state-of-the-art solutions. The main objectives of the product are:1. Delivering new, disruptive technology for data management of the IIoT industry2. Drastically reducing power consumption of the datacenters3. Providing fast, low cost, reliable local cloud technology for the IIoT industry4. Optimizing the current loading of the existing datacenters5. Helping medium-sized manufacturing, energy, logistics, and telecommunications companies to drastically cut costs on ITinfrastructure and become more competitive.
