EOSC-Marine · EOSC-Marine: Operationalizing the EOSC Node | European Digital Twin Ocean to Support the EU Mission Ocean & Waters

HORIZONStatus: SIGNED1 September 202631 August 2029EU funding €7,909,650Call HORIZON-INFRA-2025-01

The EOSC-Marine project provides the framework for developing and integrating the current marine thematic candidate into the fully operational EOSC Node | European Digital Twin Ocean within the EOSC Federation. It delivers an EOSC-compliant digital environment featuring core computing capabilities, including Authentication, Authorisation and Accounting (AAA), Research Catalogues, Application Workflows, Monitoring, and Helpdesk.By coupling multidisciplinary datasets, from in-situ and Earth observations, with advanced models and analytical tools, the Node serves as a primary response to the EC Mission 'Restoring our Ocean and Waters by 2030'. The project builds directly upon the achievements of Blue-Cloud 2026 and the EDITO programme. This synergy enables the Node to evolve into the specific EDITO component that delivers FAIR open data and analytical services, instrumental for research into the ocean, European seas, coastal, and inland waters, to the entire EOSC Federation. These capabilities will be validated through key aquatic science use cases released within the Node. Furthermore, the project will manage the onboarding of new third-party services, contributing valuable recommendations to the EOSC enrolment processes. Finally, EOSC-Marine will advance the governance and sustainability of the Node in strict alignment with the EOSC Federation Handbook, ensuring it is a fully operational pillar fit for cross-node data and service exchange.
