Ports account for ~30% of CO2 emissions in the shipping industry, mostly caused by diesel-powered machinery. While regulators are pushing for industry electrification, charging infrastructure is lagging and creates major barriers for electrification. Elonroad’s electric road system can charge any heavy vehicle (in motion or parked). It enables much smaller batteries that allow OEMs to reduce vehicle costs. Elonroad addresses a charging market towards higher capacity charging levels (Level 3), which is estimated at €14.7B globally growing at 49% CAGR.
