DESTINY2 · Doctorate Programme on Emerging Battery Storage Technologies INspiring Young Scientists 2
DESTINY2 (Doctorate Programme on Emerging Battery Storage Technologies INspiring Young scientists) is a new excellent doctoral programme led by the French CNRS for the recruitment and training of 42 doctoral candidatesunder five major thematic areas in energy storage & battery research, while fulfilling all the principles of Open Science and maintaining the highest research quality standards: Post Li-Ion Technologies; High-Power Devices; Battery Manufacturing & Recycling; Advanced Methods, New Materials & Electrolytes.DESTINY2 represents a new milestone towards the consolidation of an excellent partnership as the “European doctoral school on batteries” through a unique consolidated program, in strong collaboration with European industry and associated partners among which 17 Cofunders (7 private companies and 7 grading universities). As a follow-up of the original DESTINY COFUND programme, and with the aim of recruiting and training excellent doctoral researchers as the next-generation of scientists at the vanguard of European battery research, DESTINY2 goes one step further by strengthening the collaborative approach of DESTINY while enhancing the potential and future career perspectives of recruited fellows and consolidating the excellence and outstanding track-record of the beneficiary CNRS and participating entities. The programme will deliver a holistic approach to training & career development through an innovative training programme that combines research-oriented and demanding soft skills, in alignment with excellence in HR policies and the Charter & Code. The international & intersectoral aspects of the programme are boosted by the intense collaboration at ecosystem level through the participation of 39 partner organisations, including the most relevant European industries in battery and energy storage as well as large-scale facilities.
