B2FRESH · The ultimate digital platform for full transparency and efficiency in the fruits and vegetables trade

H2020Status: CLOSED1 May 201830 September 2018EU funding €50,000Call H2020-EIC-SMEInst-2018-2020

The fruits and vegetables (F&V) trade is organized along the supply chain, where multiple actors from different countries and subjected to different trading requirements exchange information and interact. The ultimate goal of the supply chain is to deliver quality and safe products that meet all the trading requirements and the consumers’ demands. However, the diversity of production areas (international scope), the length of the supply chain, the high number of actors and interlinked relationships between them, the multiple different trading requirements (different in each country and per retailer), the market uncertainty (difficult to foresee harvest and prices) and the perishable nature of the produce affects the smooth functioning of the supply chain and cause inefficiencies. With B2Fresh we aim to provide to the F&V operators (producers, traders and retailers) with a digital platform where they can find all the tools that they need to manage their supply chains in a more efficient and convenient way. We provide an ecosystem of interconnected applications that help visualize, analyse, benchmark and share data locked within the supply chain, removing complexity and reducing duplications. Thanks to our solution, we ease the supply chain management by assuring transparency and the fluent transmission of information. The operators can connect with each other through B2Fresh, so they get a complete overview of the supply chain and can share and access documents (analyses results, certifications, QC reports, specifications), send information request, receive purchase orders, etc. In addition, by aggregating and analysing the platform’s data, we provide our users with performance and benchmarking reports, so they can detect points of improvement otherwise not found. Finally, by making use of concepts such as Big Data and Predictive Algorithms, we are able to offer predictive insights to take the adequate long-term decisions.
