ATM- RARE · Resilience, Safety, and Security of ATM highly automated systems in case of High Impact Low Probability (HILP) events

HORIZONStatus: SIGNED1 June 202630 November 2028EU funding €1,873,490Call HORIZON-SESAR-2025-DES-ER-03

The ATM-RARE project will focus on enhancing the resilience, safety, and security of highly automated Air Traffic Management (ATM) solutions when faced with High Impact Low Probability (HILP) events. The project will work to make air traffic control systems more robust and prepared for unexpected, high-impact disruptions, especially as ATM increasingly relies on advanced automation and AI. A key part of this effort will involve providing anonymised data related to HILP events to improve understanding and preparedness.
