ASE-TB · Design and development of an Adaptive, Smart and Eco-efficient Test Bench for synchronized testing of linear actuators in the aeronautic sector

FP7Status: CLOSED1 November 200931 October 2011EU funding €183,908

The ASE-TB project will design, manufacture and tune an innovative and smart Test Bench for linear actuators that will be capable of conducting synchronized tests on two linear actuators of the same type while applying different loads on them. The test bench will also include a thermal chamber for conducting tests at regulated temperatures with one of the actuators. This actuator test bench will be based on a modular, eco-efficient and adaptive concept by integrating easily exchangeable hydraulic and mechanical components with sensors and control strategies that will allow automatic and autonomous safety controls as well as energy saving approaches that will assure optimised lifecycle costs and environmental impacts during endurance tests. This innovative concept of actuator test bench will mean thus a positive impact on the safety and working conditions of the end users of the Test Bench as well as a reduction in the time and costs associated to testing linear actuators together with an increase in the quality and reliability of said tests.
