APARAX · AstroPhysical searches for Axions in the RAdio and X-ray bands
Dark matter is a mysterious fluid that permeates our Universe, driving the motions of stars and galaxies. Axions and axion-like particles are favorite candidates that could solve the outstanding puzzle: What is dark matter made of? APARAX will tackle this question by predicting signals of the presence of these particles in a range of astrophysical environments, from stars to galaxies. The predictions will be tested against upcoming and archival data using a multiwavelength approach, focusing on the radio and X-ray bands. The innovative techniques and software tools developed will become a benchmark for future searches. Thanks to the rich training and outreach program, APARAX will positively impact the researcher's scientific and personal growth, as well as society, bringing the public closer to science.
