AMALIA · Massively Scalable Platform for Dual-Mode Discovery of Anti-Amyloid Drugs
Amyloids are protein aggregates that underlie Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, and other devastating diseases, yet effective therapies remain elusive. A key bottleneck is our limited ability to study and target the earliest steps of amyloid formation, which are difficult to probe with existing approaches and poorly suited for large-scale discovery. AMALIA addresses this gap by establishing a dual, massively scalable platform for anti-amyloid drug discovery, combining complementary assays that target aggregation through distinct mechanisms. This project will validate AMALIA as a scalable and versatile platform for anti-amyloid drug discovery and downstream translation. Enabling parallel, cost-effective discovery across multiple amyloid targets, AMALIA has the potential to fundamentally change how anti-amyloid therapeutics are developed.
