AERODESIGN · AERODESIGN - Preliminary Design Methodologies

FP7Status: SIGNED1 January 201031 August 2013EU funding €115,630

To study the future configuration of commercial aircrafts, it is important to have the most efficient method of preliminary design supported by the most complete database with information on existing assets and validated results. Such combination will set CleanSKY GRA with the right starting point for a preliminary design process that will yield a future advanced technology aircraft. The AERODESIGN project will generate a multi-segment and multi-level technical framework, aimed at creating an entire preliminary design methodology solution providing a realistic preliminary aircraft model based in a data base with existing aircraft data. The main objective of the AERODESIGN project is to find an integrated process of optimization for the design. AERODESIGN divides the preliminary design methodology scope into eight different modules: geometrical, aerodynamic, engine data, weight and balance, mission and low speed performance, costs analysis, engine emissions and noise analysis, each of them being integrated by various technologies that are fused together. The integration will include the use several technologies that will result in a cost effective solution.
